The Slightlys Are Back In the Studio Recording New Tunes!

This spring and summer has been busy for the band with us spending nearly three weeks of April in the recording studio working with producer Eric Palmquist — Palmquist Studios — on our newest tracks. We are so excited to be working on our newest single set to release in August.

June 5, 2015

We played both the Eco Fair in La Canada as well as the St Francis Xavier Old Tyme Fair  in Burbank.

June 7, 2015

The Slightlys kicked off this year’s Lummis Day Festival in Highland Park on the Sycamore Park Stage.

June 19, 2015

After winning the LA County Fair Battle of the Bands in late 2014, we won a spot to perform at the Vans Warped Tour at the Fairplex in Pomona. The day was incredibly hot but we still managed to attract a really nice audience.

June 24, 2015

The highlight of our month was getting to perform on the rooftop of The Aquarium of the Pacific as part of their Sunset Music Series. Audience members enjoyed an incredible show with fantastic sound. The night was beautiful, with perfect weather and an incredible view behind the band as they played two full sets and several encores. Fans in the audience included a family who had driven down from Washington state and a new fan who had discovered their music in the film Life inside Out.

Playing for Charity and Preparing for the Release of Our Next Single

We were so honored to play a full-length acoustic set on July 4 to celebrate the end of Roy’s Run for the Michael Hoefflin Foundation on behalf of Christopher Wilke, who passed away of cancer on March 20, 2014.Roy’s son and Christopher were in the same Boy Scout Troop and he was “blown away” by the amazing effect Christopher had upon so many people in his community. Roy heard so many wonderful stories about Christopher that he decided to do something to honor him. Based on his experience of previous years of running he decided to make his challenge run a fundraiser to benefit the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer in Christopher’s honor.

This year Team Christopher and Skin Cancer Stinks ( have teamed up to benefit the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer. Leah is a 12 year old, stage 3 Melanoma Skin Cancer Survivor who started Skin Cancer Stinks! With the help of celebrities, and people across the nation, Leah is spreading her message about skin cancer prevention and early detection to help save lives! Leah is honoring Christopher Wilke and his memory, supporting the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, and raising cancer awareness, by running along side Roy for the first three miles and the last three miles.
