The Slightlys Rocking the Santa Monica Pier

As the sun set over the Santa Monica Pier on Thursday, July 30, 2014, in Los Angeles, CA, teenage alt-rockers The Slightlys claimed their prize as the winners of the Rusty’s Surf Ranch Emerging Artist Competition with a lively show at the beach.

As they had throughout the SoCal battle of the bands contest, they brought some fans of their own and then made many more by the end of their performance (both on the pier and on the nearby sand). So much so, in fact, that event organizers allowed them one more song, which led to some swift instrument swapping and the musical highlight of their night with “Incommunicado” – a standout track featuring a frenetic fiddling tour de force.

“The Slightlys” is an all original Alternative Pop-Rock Band Hailing from North East Los Angeles Communities Eagle Rock, Highland Park, Silverlake, and South Pasadena. after little over a year together, “The Slightlys” Have already begun to circuit Los Angeles playing shows at iconic venues such as The House Of Blues Hollywood, Where they were the highest rated Band in the IHOB’s Highschool Music Competition 2012, and Competing in both Club Nokia’s Inaugural Highschool JAM SESSION and The Sophomore year’s two night competition in January 2013 at which they took home first place out of the fifteen High-school Bands accepted nationally.
